ArtsWay is a program of professional music concerts provided monthly by the not-for-profit Health Arts Society to elders in care homes. Over 2,700 concerts have been given across BC since 2006. Each 45-minute concert is performed by one to four paid musicians.

Elders in care homes experience intense feelings of loneliness and boredom. On average they have less than two years to live. Frailty isolates them from their former lives and from their community. They have sustained losses of family and friends, as well as the autonomy we take for granted. ArtsWay’s popular and communicative concerts are a vivid response to help alleviate our elders’ boredom in the last stage of their lives.
